By performing a wide variety of movements in a variety of intensities, CrossFit athletes develop a broad "functional fitness" that translates to increased performance in a wide variety of tasks, from elite sports to military service to simply being able to lift heavy objects safely around the house.
CrossFit can benefit people of all ages and fitness levels because the program is universally scalable. Scaling might involve modifying a movement or changing the amount of weight or the number of repetitions to target each individual athlete's current ability level. The trainers at Koda get to know their clients' abilities and are committed to making sure each athlete tailors each workout to his or her individual need, whether that means going heavier or lighter, longer or shorter. "Scaling" does not mean taking it easy. It means working hard with the body you've got today and knowing that it will be stronger tomorrow.

This class will focus on assisting clients in taking their 1st step towards a healthier lifestyle in a fun and encouraging environment. Koda's Competitor WODs are designed to prepare athletes for movements they will see in CrossFit competitions and should be completed in addition to the regular scheduled class (ideally before).
They will focus primarily on squat strength while building proficiency in the olympic lifts and gymnastics movements that are seen in the "sport of CrossFit". Our goals are to build athletes with high levels of strength that are proficient at the "skills" of CrossFit AND have a strong conditioning base.
The area of focus will shift as we approach the open and regionals. Remember that the key to become a better competitor is to focus on your weaknesses and listen to your body!
This class will be for those over the age of 55 who want increase strength, balance, coordination and overall cardiovascular health. Each session will be a different workout and a new challenge to reach your goals.
Whether your goals are climbing every stair in Italy or running and playing with your grandkids, we are here to help!
For those interested in mobility, active recovery and gentle yoga, this is what you're looking for. The class will start with mobility, which will focus on identifying areas where you may have restrictions and work to release them. Then we' ll move into some active recovery work, which should aid in quicker recovery from your intense workouts throughout the week. Finally, we'll wrap up with some mind calming, body relaxing, gentle yoga, where we can relax and let go.
KXN Barbell will focus on developing strength, power and speed through use of olympic lifting movements, powerlifting movements and structure work. All ability levels can benefit from this class.
Koda Kids is a fun class geared towards children learning the foundation movements like the squat, push-up, pull-up, climbing, jumping and elementary gymnastics movements. Most importantly you will see your child also learn to follow directions, listen, communicate, and play with others. Every class includes fitness game play and positive reinforcement. Your child's confidence, both physically and mentally, will grow with each class.
Recommended ages for Koda Kids is 6-11 years old. 12 and up will typically join in our regular CrossFit classes. We are happy to talk more if parents are unsure which option would be best suited for their child.
